W. Cook v. W. A. Lovejoy

THE above prominent professionals contested a game of 750 up on level terms at "The Falcon" Hotel, Gravesend, on Saturday evening last, before a large company of interested spectators.

Cook was responsible for a brilliant compilation of 215 containing a sequence of thirty nursery cannons, and proved the ultimate winner by 98 points. Lovejoy contributed a nice break of 148, but failed to do anything further of a noteworthy description.
