A Strange Coincidence

Many strange things have happened in connection with billiards, and not the least peculiar is the fact that exactly the same type of accident deprived us of one billiard Champion, and looks all like providing us with another. In 1881 Joseph Bennett resigned the Championship after breaking his arm, and it was a broken arm which caused George Gray to spend a considerable amount of time in his father's billiard-room watching the game.

It is quite likely that but for this accident he might never have devoted his life to the game of which he is now such a grand exponent, and of which he appears destined to be Champion before his career is finished.
