A Game Called "Thanet."

"Once upon a time," as the story books say, the ever-popular Edward Diggle was playing somewhere in the Midlands when a card was sent in to him bearing the inscription—" Mr. —, Champion of Thanet. Edward scrutinised the pasteboard closely for a minute or two, turned it over two or three times, and then edged quietly over to the press-box, and in his own inimitable fashion remarked: "Well, I've heard of champions of crib, skittles, and dominoes; but I've never heard of a game called Thanet, have you?"
