Billiards Quarterly Review Discontinued

This is the twenty-first issue of the Billiards Quarterly Review and so the magazine can be said to have come of age. It is also, I'm afraid, the last issue.

For about twelve years I have attended most of the major billiards events to be held in England, and during that time, either as covering for the, "Snooker Scene," or for my own magazine, I have been present at every professional event. I have witnessed the decline of the older players, and marvelled at the superb skills of a younger generation.

However, I cannot say that I have witnessed any great increase in either interest in billiards or in the number of people playing the game. Indeed, despite the Teesside production line seeming as fertile as ever, there seems to be fewer players than when the Mini-Prix was at its height.

My travels round the billiards world have brought me into contact with most of the game's enthusiasts, some of whom I like to consider as friends rather than mere acquaintances. I hope to meet them at events and tournaments from time to time.
