Died in Hospital after a five year illness which terminated his 60 year amateur billiard playing career. Reg was a friend and associate of many of the leading players and was a regular spectator at Thurstons, witnessing many thousand breaks.
In a midnight game on his own table, he made his first century break, playing Sid Shaw, and was so excited that he rang, after 1.00am, Mark Wildman and myself to give us the great news. He is survived by his wife Louise and son Nicholas.
Gordon died after a short illness at the Age of 62. He was a good average amateur player and a regular member of the Derby team playing in the Midlands league. Gordon was also well-known locally as a swimming coach. He was a quietly-spoken, friendly, and very well-liked.
