Huddersfield Open Billiards

Sixth time for Hill
From Geoffrey Oldfield

"Stuart Hill (Honley Liberal) won the Huddersfield Open for the sixth time by beating Brian Cousen (Lindley Liberal) 500 - 384. Hill built up a lead of some hundred points only to see this disappear as Cousen knocked up consecutive breaks of 35 and 87. After the interval a mistake over a safety shot let Hill in for a 62 which he followed with a 61 at his next visit. Cousen, four times champion, fought back well but Hill kept the initiative running to game with an unfinished 35. "hanks Geoffrey and well done Mr. Hill.
