Martin Goodwill took the C.I.U. individual title for the third year running. The C.I.U. officials will have to get a new cup for next year as this hat-trick gives Goodwill the cup in perpetuity. Martin also took the highest break prize for an effort of 267 in his semi-final against David Causier. Causier had two centuries in this three-hour match. The other semi-final saw a quite narrow win for Peter Shelley over Phil Welham.
The Final was played at the Leeds Anglers Club where both men had difficulty in coming to terms with a very tight table.
