CIU National Individual Championship

The Working Men's Club and Institute Union Individual Billiard Championship has attracted 37 entries this year. Many of the players are well known on ABC and Mini-Prix circuits. Amongst the better known are the holder Martin Goodwill, ex-champion Alf Nolan, English Amateur Champion David Causier, English Finalist Dennis Watson, and Midlands Champion Peter Shelley. There is a good contingent from the North East including last year's runner-up Nick Hayward, Tony Mackinder, and a number of players from the Teesside Boys.
