Radiant Grand Slam (World Masters) - Second Leg

Delhi, April, 1992

Sethi takes the second

The second leg of the Radiant Grand Slam series was won by Geet Sethi making it two in a row. Sethi must now be a strong favourite to win the third event scheduled for Karachi probably in October and claim the bonus on offer for three wins. He beat Robby Foldvari 8 - 5 in the Final. Russell was beaten by Sethi 4- 0 in the first round. The World Champion has not been at his best this year and there is some speculation as to whether or not the time he is putting in at snooker is having an adverse effect on his billiards. Russell is surely sufficiently talented to shine at both games. The tournament is reported as a great success with a great deal of media attention. It is eighteen months since Geet Sethi remarked that he thought the future of professional billiards lay in India. Looks like he was right.
