Calling all Billiards Enthusiasts

Please accept with my compliments this copy of the Billiards Quarterly Review. The idea for the Magazine came from a chance remark made at a Mini-Prix Tournament. In the Final of the Shrewsbury Tournament of April '89, Mike Russell made consecutive breaks of 462 and 315. Mentioning this to a Tournament regular who had missed Shrewsbury, resulted in the comment that such wonderful achievements were often only heard of during Mini-Prix chat - if at all - and that equivalent feats at Snooker would be plastered all over the back pages of the tabloids. There is some Billiards coverage in the Snooker Magazines but not in the detail that the dyed-in-the-wool Billiards man craves for. The Billiards Quarterly Review is aimed at providing just such information in detail. The Magazine will cover Professional and Amateur events; provide news, views, and previews; carry profiles of well-known and not-so-well-known enthusiasts; include articles and items of general Billiards interest; bring you news from overseas; include a Collectors' Corner; publish readers' views and opinions, in short - all about Billiards

So once again let me offer this first issue with my compliments.

Your views, comments, suggestions for improvement, or items for inclusion will be welcome.

If you enjoy reading this first issue then perhaps you would consider taking out a year's subscription; if so then see attached sheet for details.

Best wishes and good cueing.

Tom Terry
