GORDON WIGGS

A Promising Boy Player

"GORDON is very popular with all our friends, fond of animals and home life," states Mr. W. J. Wiggs, when forwarding at our request the following notes on the billiard progress of his clever young son.

"Gordon is 15 years old and started playing billiards when he was 12½22;. Owing to a severe attack of whooping cough when a baby, Gordon is a delicate boy, and may never be very strong. Because of this I encouraged him to play billiards, and not to go in for those games which require more effort. I had at home a small table, and as Gordon took at once to the game, I purchased a full-size table, and I used to give him

"Gordon lacks competitive play. I have seen him play in the matches and I know he can play much better —he now beats me level. His highest break is 78, but I think a 100 break is not far off. One good point about Gordon is that practice is a pleasure to him, and not a hardship."

"Gordon appreciates the fine points of billiards, and plays the game as it should be played."
