"GORDON is very popular with all our friends, fond of animals and home life," states Mr. W. J. Wiggs, when forwarding at our request the following notes on the billiard progress of his clever young son.
"Gordon is 15 years old and
started playing billiards when he was
12½22;. Owing to a severe attack of
whooping cough when a baby,
Gordon is a delicate boy, and may
never be very strong. Because of
this I encouraged him to play
billiards, and not to go in for those
games which require more effort.
I had at home a small table, and as
Gordon took at once to the game,
I purchased a full-size table, and I
used to give him "Gordon lacks competitive play.
I have seen him play in the matches
and I know he can play much better
he now beats me level. His highest
break is 78, but I think a 100 break
is not far off. One good point about
Gordon is that practice is a pleasure
to him, and not a hardship."
"Gordon appreciates the fine
points of billiards, and plays the
game as it should be played."
