CANE FOR CUES

Split cane has been in use for fishing rods nearly a hundred years.

It is being tried out for golf shafts, and may be a big success.

A few billiard cues are made of this material, which consists of six or eight triangular sections of cane tapered and glued up to form one solid"stick.

Mr. W. F. Homer, the well-known London fishing rod maker, states that, in his opinion, a split-cane cue should give more strength and stiffness than ash for a given weight.
