The final heat of 1,000 up was reached on May 20, when W. S. Jones and S. F. Finn met. In the afternoon the chief breaks were 30, 49, 21, 21, 22, and 20 by Jones, and 34, 37, 22, and 28 by Finn, and the interval scores were: S. F. Finn (in play), 501; W. S. Jones, 464. In the evening Jones, who was the last holder of the title, made breaks of 21, 43, 25, 54, and 20, and Finn 38, 25, 25, 47, 21, 24, 24, 39, and 45. Final scores: S. F. Finn, 1,000; W. S. Jones, 806.
In the first semi-final Finn met A. E. Morgan and won by over half the game. He put on runs of 12, 13 (twice), 16, 34, 32, 35, 11, 28, and 17, and Morgan of 13, 10 (twice), 18, 34, 25, and 11. The result was: Finn, 500; Morgan, 246.
The second semi-final was between W. S. Jones and F. E. Duell and was much closer, Jones winning by 500 to 454. His breaks were 58, 41, 41, 23, 21, and 31 (twice), to 28, 43, 36, and 55 by Duell.
W. A. Munns beat R. E. G. Bromfield by 122 points.
S. F. Finn defeated T. Wright by 88 points. The winner made breaks of 38, 27, and 20 and the loser 22.
Fred Morton defeated W. T. Binks by 183 points. The winner made breaks of 30, 23, 21, and 20.
W. S. Jones defeated G. Cowan by 56 points. The chief breaks were 33, 22, and 21 by the winner, and 31 by the loser.
F. C. Duell defeated J. Collinson by 157 points. The winner made breaks of 31, 30, and 31 (unfinished), and the loser 11.
W. H. Faber defeated B. W. C. Hawkes by 37 points.
The best breaks were 19 and 16 (twice) by the winner, and 33, 26, and 16 by the loser.
S. F. Finn defeated W. A. Faber by 71. Finn made breaks of 33, 31, and 28, and the loser 28.
W. S. Jones defeated Fred Morton by 109 points. His chief breaks were 35, 30, 26, 23 (twice), and 20, and the loser's 24, 23, and 22.
A. E. Morgan defeated William Morgan (his brother) by 128.
F. C. Duell beat W. A. Munns by 92.
