Association and Control Club Billiards

The most important event in the world of amateur billiards, now that the amateur championships of billiards and snooker have been decided for the present season, is the Annual Amateur Handicap of the Billiards Association and Control Council, which is now in progress at the Club headquarters, 20, Cranbourn Street, W.C. A capital entry of forty-five has been received for this competition, including no fewer than eight competitors in the recent amateur championship. The heats arc 500 points up, and four heats are decided each evening, Saturdays excepted, two being played concurrently at 6.30 p.m., and two at 8 p.m.

The final will take place on Tuesday, April 19, at the conclusion of which the prizes, which, in accordance with the usual custom, have been generously provided by various members of the Council, will be presented.

FIRST ROUND

Col. P. D. L. Lyall (rec. 50) beat C. Fison (rec. 225) by 125 points. The winner made breaks of 62, 50, 42, 39 and 37 to the loser's highest of 22.
