Mr. J. R. Hooper and Mr. S. H. Fry to Meet Again

So many failed to gain admission to Burroughes Hall to see the championship heat between Messrs. Hooper and Fry that the Australian amateur was asked whether he would be willing to play an exhibition match with Mr. Fry. For reasons that attested to his great sporting qualities, Mr. Hooper was rather averse from the idea at first, but when it was pointed out to him that the Prince of Wales's Boy Scouts Fund might derive assistance from such a meeting he generously consented, always providing that Mr. Fry was equally agreeable. On being approached in his turn, Mr. Fry gladly acquiesced.

Fortunately, owing to the scratching of Inman from the Professional Championship, Burroughes Hall, Piccadilly, is vacant during the week commencing Monday, February 21, and pending a permit being granted by the Billiards Association and Control Council (of which there is no reasonable doubt) Messrs.

Fry and Hooper will then play a match of 500 up, the whole of the net proceeds being devoted by Messrs. Burroughes and Watts to the Prince of Wales's Boy Scouts Fund. Owing to Mr.

Hooper's state of health and a natural concern for his eyesight, the match will be confined to afternoon sessions, commencing at 3 daily throughout the week. It is a match that will create great interest in amateur circles, and it is hoped that the Prince of Wales may himself be present for a short time.
