Forthcoming Inter-Club Tournament To Assist Earl Haig's Appeal

With the object of assisting Earl Haig's Fund for demobilized officers and men an interesting billiards contest was initiated by Messrs. Burroughes and Watts and organized by Captain Attenborough, secretary of the Sports Section of the Earl Haig Fund. The preliminary competition was open to all registered clubs and institutes in the United Kingdom, and took place in October to December last. Each club undertook to keep a record of the biggest breaks made on its tables, such record to be certified as correct by a responsible officer of the club.

The six players making the highest breaks will now compete in a tournament at Burroughes Hall, 48, St. James's Street, Piccadilly, during the week March 7 to 12, and the handsome incentive of a 300-guinea billiard table is offered as the first prize. Other details will be found on page 7.
