THE FIRST MATCH FOR THE CHAMPIONSHIP OF SCOTLAND

THE first match for the Billiard Championship of Scotland, for which Messrs Burroughes and Watts, the well-known billiard-table makers, have presented a handsome silver challenge cup, was played on one of their ordinary tables (not a championship table), on Thursday evening last, at Glasgow, the competitors being Green and John Bennett. The latter player was not up to his best form, and Green had an easy victory by 300 points. As might have been expected from the fact of its being the first match, the attendance was exceedingly good.
