DEAR SIR,-In your issue of Saturday last you give an account of a match between W. M. Green and James Meaney, of this town. You inadvertently describe Mr. Green as"champion of Scotland, "nd Mr. Meaney as"ex-champion. "he former forfeited his claim to championship honours by not accepting my challenge to play since March last, nearly twelve months ago, and the latter has never played for the championship; consequently you will see that you were in error in your description of both the above players.
