HANDICAP AT NORTH BRIXTON

A HANDICAP was played last week at the Hamilton Billiard Saloon, Loughboro-road, North Brixton. The heats were 200 up, and 16 players competed, the final heat falling to Mr. Trew by two points only. The prize was a handsome silver cup, weighing 52 ounces. The following are particulars:—

First draw: Mr. Hendry, received 100, beat Mr. Ward, received 55; Mr. Fryer, 25, beat Mr. Dance, scratch; Mr. Jesse Winfield, 65, beat Mr. Shee, 105; Mr. W. Roy, 30, beat Mr. Bowditch, 105; Mr. Patmore, 50, beat Mr. Slowburn, 40; Mr. W. J. Innes, 70, beat Mr. H. Roy, 85; Mr. Reuben, 70, beat Mr. H. Goodson, 70; and Mr. Trew, 100, beat Mr. T. Green, 35.

In the second round Mr. Fryer beat Mr. Hendry, Mr. Winfield beat Mr. Innes, Mr. Reuben beat Mr. Patmore, and Mr. Trew beat Mr. W. Roy.

Third draw: Mr. Trew beat Mr. Fryer, and Mr. Winfield beat Mr. Reuben.

The final heat between Mr. Trew and Mr. Winfield was very close and exciting, the latter catching: his opponent at 180, after which the game was called 191 all, and 198 all, Mr. Trew winning the game on the next stroke by a very tricky cannon.
