STACEY'S AMATEUR HANDICAP

A HANDICAP promoted by Mr. Stacey has been played during the present week at the Jolly Tanners Assembly Rooms, Bermondsey, and proved so far successful as to induce that gentleman to announce his intention of giving a handsome prize to be competed for after Christmas. Some well-known amateurs took part in the handicap, and the management of T. Stuart gave great satisfaction to both players and spectators. Subjoined is a return of the play up to Wednesday:—

C. Fisher (received 45) beat J. Bowmer (scratch).
R. Burrage (scratch) beat J. Wilson (received 60) by 75.
W. Wilsher (owes 50) beat J. Stacey (received 60) by 31.
H. Lambert (received 60) beat E. Bayly (scratch) by 3.
Tuesday
Bowmer beat Burrage by 94
Bayly beat Fisher by 26
Wilsher beat Wilson by 6
