THE AMERICAN CHAMPIONSHIP

THE fourth game for the billiard championship of the United States and 100 dollars a-side was played on November 24 at Tammany Hall, between Cyrille Dion and Maurice Daly. The betting on the game in the pools sold just previously to the commencement of the play showed Cyrille Dion to be the favourite over Daly at odds of 50 to 40. The interest evinced by the spectators as the game proceeded showed that the popular love for billiards had suffered but little diminution from the long tournament of the previous week. The lead was won by Daly, who elected to lead off, choosing the white ball. The following were the runs made during the game:—
