The first issue of Billiard Monthly appeared in November 1910 and was produced by Burroughes & Watts to fill a gap in the market which had appeared after the demise of The New World of Billiards.
Using a lighter reporting style with less provincial news, the medium also provided a satisfactory outlet for advertising their products and putting forward the views of the company on the issues of the day. The magazine would undoubtedly have run for more than four years had not the war with Germany intervened, the final issue appearing in August 1914.
