Another Demonstration of Elementary Billiards

At Burroughes Hall, Soho Square, on March 23, the editor of The Billiard Monthly gave (by special request) another address on "Elementary Billiards" before a numerous and interested audience. The explanations were (as before) kindly illustrated on the table by Miss K. Lidbetter.

The strokes included examples in three strengths, with one and two balls (the latter with half-ball contact) and the course of the object ball, whether striking one, two, or three cushions, was specially indicated.

Object ball control up and down the centre of the table, with the cue ball in hand or at the middle pocket, was next illustrated, and this was followed by identical in-offs with the object ball guided in different directions, and by winning hazard striking from varying angles.

The final demonstration illustrated the various court's taken from a given position by both cue and object ball when the latter is struck with screw at varying contacts.
