Billiard Anecdotes

In an exhibition game in London, Reece was making a fairly big break, and had occasion to play a rather tricky shot with his left hand, whereat a gentleman in the front row of seats turned round to a lady who sat next to him, and remarked: "Amphibious, my dear, amphibious"!

John Roberts, during his recent visit to Australia, strayed into the hotel billiard room, and the young marker at once said: "Have a game, sir?" "No thank you," replied Roberts. "Give you 40 in a 100, sir. I give 40 to everybody here." "But I happen to be John Roberts, retired billiard champion," said Roberts, to put an end to matters.

"Well, I'll give you 20," was the young Australian's cool reply.—George Nelson, in "The Yorkshire Evening Post."
