The now historical Salon at Soho Square of Messrs. Burroughes and Watts, Ltd., is henceforth to be known as Burroughes Hall, and here will be commenced, early in November, the great annual £1,000 Professional Billiards Tournament.
Previously to this, and commencing on Sept. 19, there will be a preliminary knock-out tournament amongst twenty-four professionals who have not yet attained front rank, and the ultimate winner of this preliminary tournament will be included, on handicap terms, in the tournament proper.

Cox (London), J. Chapman (Birmingham), W. Christie (Glasgow), *G. Clark (London), J. Collins (Liverpool), and probably A. Cope (Birmingham) and T. Dennis (Nottingham).
The first heats will be 1,000 up (they were 2,000 up twelve months ago), semi-finals 3,000 up, and final 6,000 up, 500 up each afternoon and evening being played throughout the competition.
