The well-known professional, T. Reece, commenced on the 20th November a five days' engagement at the Billiards Control Club, Great Windmill Street, Piccadilly Circus, where he was opposed by members of the club in games of 750 up every afternoon and evening of the week, except Thursday. His first opponent was Mr. G. H. Nelson.
Conceding 500, Reece made breaks of 167, 81, 73, and 70, and won by 77 points. Mr. Nelson's best break was 42.

At night Mr. W. Burlinson got to within 13 of game but Reece ran out with 82 (unfinished). Other breaks by Reece were 135, 94, 62, 58, 57, and 51, while Mr. Burlinson was responsible for 33, 28, 21, and 20. Scores:—Reece, 750; Mr. W. Burlinson (rec. 500), 737.
Mr. "A. N. Other" was Reece's opponent on the second day. but, having to face such breaks as 295, 64, 94, and 130, was beaten by 99 points. Scores:—Reece, 750; Mr. "A. N. Other" (rec. 500), 651. In the evening Mr. W. J. Gask received 600 in 1,000 up, and was only defeated by 40 in a.well-contested game. Reece's breaks were 134, 122, 88, 87, 84, 80, 55, and 52. Opposed by Mr. W. Herbert Fowler on Wednesday, Reece made breaks of 154, 135, 107, 64, 54, 45, and 40.

Burlinson again opposed Reece, who this, time conceded 600 in 1,000, and won by 192 points, with breaks of 135, 124, 97, 96, 90, 71, 68, 64, and 50 (unfinished). Mr. Burlinson's breaks included 38, 36, and 24. Scores:—Reece, 1,000; W. Burlinson (rec. 600), 808.On the Friday Reece met with his first defeat, Mr. W. B. Baker (rec. 500) beating him by 105 points. Reece had 243, 146, 68, and 44 as his best, and Mr. Baker made breaks of 42 (twice), 37, 22, and 20. Scores:—Mr. W. B. Baker (rec. 500) 750; Reece, 645.
In the evening Mr. H. A. Hatchett received 600 in 1,000, and won by 142 points. The amateur compiled breaks of 57, 53, 32, 24, 22 (twice), and 20, and Reece 303, including 225 off the red (recorded at his first visit to the table), 128, 86, 67, 56, and 50. Scores:—Mr. A. On the Saturday afternoon Reece again opposed Mr. W. J. Gask, who, with an allowance of 500 in 750, won by 118. Reece made 80, 79, 66, 65, and 56, and Mr. Gask 32, 2,3, and 31 (unfinished). Scores:—Mr. W. J. Gask (rec. 500), 750; Reece, 632.
