H. W. Stevenson, the champion of British billiards, was quietly married on June 10th to Miss Daisy Elizabeth King.
Great secrecy was maintained about the ceremony, only relatives being aware of the date of the event. Only a few close friends of the couple knew even of the engagement.
In the register the bridegroom is described as a widower, aged 36, and the bride as a spinster, aged 21. The bride's father and a friend named Wilton were the only people present at the ceremony. Miss King, a pretty, fair girl, who was married in travelling costume, belongs to Hanwell.
Mr. and Mrs. Stevenson left London the same night for the Continent, whence they will proceed to Australia, where the champion is to play a series of matches.
