Chris Shutt made a break of 546.

A crowd of over 100 spectators watched Chris Shutt start proceedings with a magnificent display against Chapman, making a break of 546 in just 40 minutes—which proved to be the highest of the competition—and recording an average of 120.6! He then went on to make short work of last year's winner, Mike Russell, this time making a top break of 234. Russell secured his place in the final with a comfortable win over Chapman, which included a break of 346, scoring a total of 642 points in his eleven visits to the table.

A full house watched the 90 minute final which was a much closer affair than the previous heats, with Russell proving the more consistent, eventually winning by 209 points. The trophy was presented by David Nudd, representing the sponsors, and the evening was concluded with an alternate-shot doubles match between Mike and Chris and two Norfolk amateur's Harvey Gibbons and Denis Jarvis. This was the third holding of the Charity Challenge, and easily the most successful to date.
