Chris Shutt experienced the high's and lows of competitive billiards in the invitation event. The 20 year old rookie pro produced breaks of 157 and 127 to beat the World Champion Mike Russell in his round-robin opener, then got "stuffed" 706-30 by Peter Gilchrist.
The youngster rounded off his involvement with a narrow 10 point win over veteran Norman Dagley, who returned to competitive action after a prolonged bout of illness.
Peter Gilchrist recorded breaks of 314 and 244 in his rout of Chris and won the event with victories over Norman and Mike.
