English Amateur Champion Paul Bennett was in free-scoring mood, running in totals of 499,412,540 and 543. He won the event despite Steve Crosland making a century break in the final.
Paul made three of the eight century breaks on the day, his 135 just bettering Terry Colby's 130 to take me highest break prize.

December's ABC attracted 52 entries, with Junior involvement from Jim Chambers, Fraser Adams and Dean Bavister. There were eight century breaks made, with a best of 186 from Neal Rewhorn who reached the semi-finals before losing to the eventual winner, Steve Crosland.
Steve made three of the centuries, including a 141 in the final as part of a 314-280 victory over Jim McCann.
Top score of the day came from Lee Lagan, who included runs of 110, 64 and 95 in a 488 total. There were other 400+ performances from Peter Shelley, Darren Kell and Jamie Moore.
Jamie had a 104 break, and Darren 104 & 109.
Closest finishes of the day involved Steve Crosland over Ron Haig by 4 points, and Jim McCann over Lee Lagan by 3. The highest aggregate was Neal Rewhorn's 346-329 victory over Darren Kell. Philip Welham took the Plate prize.
