KINGS LYNN

A strong field gathered at the Makings Q club for the first of this three event series. Cleveland's Paul Bennett was a strong favourite for the event and this was proven when he took the title in great form, scoring an aggregate total of 2071 in 4 hours play, and scoring 2 centuries including the days highest break a fine 133 the final. Cramers David Nichols did very well to reach the final, as did Shane Currie (Cromer) to reach the semis.

All the players had at least 2 hours play, and all the participants, supporters, officials and mums and dads, had a very enjoyable day.

The next event is at the Atack S.C., Nuneaton in January (date yet to be confirmed), it is hoped another strong entry from the Eastern counties will be possible, as not only have our juniors their positions in the national rankings to defend, and improve on, but also wouldn't it be nice to prove to the rest of England that another area apart from Teesside can produce classy juniors.

Northants Dean Bavister took the plate title after defeating local 'rival' Matthew Sutton in a close and competitive game 223 (61) -155, while several other players illustrated their move in the right direction, most notably Jimmy Chambers, Matt Willard and Fraser Adams.
