I'm pleased to inform you that we have just completed a successful first season of the above league, resurrected after an absence of 50 years.
We have started modestly with 6 teams of 3 players each, playing 200-up off handicap, which gave each team a total of 10 fortnightly games during the season.
In addition to the league matches, we have held a seminar on the rules (given by the WPBSA North-west representative), an individual knock-out tournament, a 'round-robin' competition and a doubles tournament. Interestingly enough, the league was won by a team the average age of which was 18 (not my team!). Equally important was that everybody seemed to enjoy his billiards.
Next season we hope to increase the number of teams to 8 and plan once again to supplement the league games with tournaments and possibly inter-league friendlies.
