Middlesbrough Friendly League

Middlesbrough RAOB Club, in the Third Division of the League, strongly support young players and were rewarded by 16 year-old Kyle Cunningham who recorded a break of 80 in winning his 120-up billiards match at home to Billingham Social 'B' in February.

Cleveland League

Sixteen year-old Callum Robinson (Redcar Literary Institute) became the youngest ever winner of the Corner Billiards Handicap when he defeated Gary Beckett (Redcar Lakes) in the final at Saltburn Conservative Club on 14th April. With many clubs in the League still excluding juniors, and women, from their games-room, Callum had to survive the lottery of the draw which could have led to automatic disqualification had he been unfortunate enough to have been given an away tie at one of these venues.
