Huddersfield on top

The current Yorkshire Team Champions, Huddersfield, are sitting on top of the League again as they enter the second half of the season. The trio of Matthew Peaker, Brian Cousen and Steve Whiteley were unbeaten with a 10 point lead at the head of the table, but have now had this reduced when they suffered their first defeat, losing 5-2 at Lillycroft WMC to the Bradford squad of Richard Bowes, Richard Lodge and Lawrie Hardisty.

Teesside challenge

On 2nd November, John Hartley took a squad of Juniors from Teesside to the Linthwaite Methodists, in Huddersfield, for a friendly "challenge match" against the boys from the Sunday School League. This was the second time the contest had been held the inaugural competition having been last year. The occasion saw the Teesside team winning five games to three, John Hartley making the highest break of the afternoon with 62 unfinished.
