The annual Test series of Billiards and Snooker between the Indian Province of Tamil Nadu and Sri Lanka was held over three days from 14th-16th July, with Erode, Kodaikanal, and the Madras Cricket Club providing the venues. The tournament was won by the Indian squad of S. A. Saleem, K. Ranjan, Premprakash, Siddarth Rao, Pranav Jain, S. H. Kamaraj and Jai Ganesh who managed to win all three encounters. The billiards was played as a mix of 150 up games and one-hour time format.
The tournament was not held last year due to lack of sponsorship, the previous contest having been held in Nuverelia, Kandy, and Colombo, when the Sri Lankans were victorious, winning that series 2-1. The Sri Lankan team on this occasion included H. H. Sirisoma, and father and son combine of Henry and Susantha Boteju, but the squad had been depleted by the absence of two key players Chuti Mansoor and Naresh Samarawickrama, who were sent to Bangkok by the Sri Lankan Billiards and Snooker Federation for "training and competition exposure" in advance of the forthcoming Asian Games.
