NORTHERN IRELAND

Northern Ireland Billiards Championship

Paddy Donnelly retained his Northern Ireland Billiards title defeating Davy Elliott 640-445 in the final at the West Belfast Social Club. Elliott, a six times previous winner, was well in contention until Donnelly drew clear with a fine break of 134. With the reigning Champion adding 95 a little later he ensured himself of a comfortable victory. This was the twelfth time Donnelly had secured this title. Elliott had the consolation of making the highest break in the competition with a run of 156 in his quarter-final match against Tony Buttimer.
