Paul Mifsud (Senglea S.C.) confirmed his superiority over his fellowcountrymen by taking the Malta Billiards Championship for an impressive 25th time at the MBSA Snooker Centre, Rabat, on Thursday 13th June. In the four-hour final he overwhelmed Publius Grech (La Valette B.C.) 1456-788. In a consistent display, he returned a match average of 20.2 despite making only one century (151). Mifsud had earlier made the highest break in the championship with a 243 in the qualifying group stages.
Both the finalists had won their previous round matches in a very convincing manner, Mifsud defeating Frans Mintoff (La Valette B.C.) 1432-557, while Grech had overcome youngster Duncan Bezzina (Senglea S.C.) 1166-570.

Gejtu Galea (Prince of Wales B.C.) defeated Paul Aquilina (Centru Laburista Fgura) to take the Second Division Billiards title. Both players ran neck and neck over the first 2 hours play but Galea took the initiative in the last 45 minutes and held on to win 690-634.
