Peaker's clean sweep

Sixteen year-old Matthew Peaker won his third title of the season in the Sunday School Billiards League when he won the May Gray Cup. In the final, Peaker swept to a convincing 200-135 win over Roger Singleton (New North Road) despite conceding a 50 points handicap. Peaker had already collected two team titles as he helped Linthwaite Methodists to a League and Singleton Cup double, also posting the highest break of the season (76). He had additionally been a member of the Netherton Conservative team that lifted the Huddersfield Open Billiards League crown.
