Emma Bonney from Portsmouth became the 2002 World Ladies Billiards Champion when she defeated Kelly Fisher in the final on 20th April at the Jesters Club, Swindon. Bonney took the £350 first prize and gained 15 ranking points to stretch her lead at the head of the rankings, which run on a three year cycle. She also took £50 for the high break prize for an effort of 38 in her semi-final win over Sarah Kingswell. Fisher had defeated former finalist Caroline Walch in her semi final, knocking in breaks of 32, 35 and 31, to add to 36 she made in the quarters against Christine Sharpe. All matches were one hour duration.
