On Saturday 12th January, Cornwall took on the Plymouth & District League in their annual fixture at Grants Snooker Club, St Austell. Cornwall's Billiards team were triumphant with a 5-0 result, Alan Snell making his second appearance of the season, and defeating Plymouth's best player Steve Brookshaw. Unfortunately, although the Billiards team secured valuable points Plymouth won the overall event 18-13.

Dave Clue (Menheniot) made a break of 138, playing a 200-up fixture in the Liskeard & District Billiards League. In the Camelford & District League Geoff Lingard, (Camelford War Memorial Institute) made a 100 break in a local derby match against Camelford Conservative Club on 23rd January 2002.
Dave White won the Cornish Masters tournament held at Grants Snooker Club, St Austell on Sunday 17th March, narrowly defeating Bill Andress 195-178 in the final. White made the best breaks of the day, with a run of 100 in his semi-final win over Geoff Lingard, and another of 143 in the qualifying groups.
