Last year's runner-up Mohammad Hussain went one better by winning the second Red & White National Billiards Championship at the Indus Snooker Club, Karachi, on Sunday 11th November. In the final he defeated Khurram Hussain Agha 5-2, playing best of nine 50-up games. Twenty-four-year-old Agha, had already won the snooker and pool championships and was attempting to become the first player to make a clean sweep by adding the Billiards crown. However, he was never in contention against the veteran Hussain, the oldest player in the tournament, who won easily, making a break of 50 in the final game.
Hussain who had lost out in a close match to Saleh Mohammad last year, collected a trophy and a cash prize of Rs.25,000 (£295). The two semi-finalists were former World, Asian and Pakistan Snooker Champion, Mohammad Yousuf, and veteran Yousuf Haroon, both from Sindh.
