The second Billiards Tournament of the Season was played at the Ivy Rooms Snooker Club. Carlow on Sunday, 21st October 2001. The players decided to switch from the 50-up games used for the first tournament and revert to the old format of 400 points up, giving some players a handicap. Only one handicap player reached the semi-final stages, Anthony O'Connor (Limerick), where he came up against the winner of the first tournament, Aidan Murray. Anthony tried very hard but his handicap was not enough to trouble Aidan who won 400- 313. The other semi-final was a ding-doing match with Irish Champion Eugene Hughes (Dun Laoghaire) proving too strong for Victor O'Gorman (Monkstown) 400-348. The final was a repeat of the first tournament final but this time the result was reversed with Eugene getting his revenge over Aidan with a very easy 400-203 victory.
