Mike Russell has issued a challenge to play anyone in the World in a match of 2,000-up for a sum between £5,000 and £10,000. As an encouragement to would-be opponents, Russell says he would be prepared to concede at least 500 points start.
We reported in our last issue that Mike Russell had made an official complaint to the WPBSA alleging that Mike Ferreira had asked himself and David Causier to lose their pairs match in last year´s Test Match in India. It is understood that David Causier also made a written submission to the WPBSA in support of Russell´s claim. Having considered Ferreira´s response, the WPBSA have announced that no action will be taken against him as they are satisfied that he has no case to answer.
The WPBSA have now moved from their offices in Oakfield Road and taken up residence in another part of Bristol. They have also made another change of image, producing a new logo and adopting the trading name of World Snooker. Their new address is Albert House, 111- 117 Victoria Street, Bristol BS1 6AX (Telephone 0117-317-8200) Email: enq@worldsnooker.com
