Finding half a dozen players to travel to Derbyshire at the most unattractive time of year has always been a problem for Sandford's Team Manager, Colin White. This November, however, proved to be exceptional and six stalwarts motored to Ashbourne on the 17th to play their fixture at Mayfield the following day. Tradition has had it that the home team always triumphs but on this the 9th meeting Sandford managed to snatch victory by the narrow margin of 26 points after the match scores were tied.
