English Under-16 Champion Peter Gamblin has his sights set on this year’s title.

Born and raised in Lincoln, Peter Gamblin's early influence came from watching top snooker star Ronnie O'Sullivan in action, and his free-potting style certainly reflects that inspiration. He started playing at the George Fisher Social Club were his father is a member, quickly progressing to competitive action in the 6th division of the Lincoln League. Here he was spotted by Roger Clark who recognised his potential as a billiard player and under Roger's guidance he managed to secure the English under- 16 Billiards Championship last year. As he continues to improve his billiards skills to compliment his natural potting ability, he will be difficult to beat in this year's championship and currently looks favourite to retain the title.

A regular competitor in the Junior Ranking series, he also hones his skills by playing in three local leagues, taking part in both billiards and snooker competitions. Up to now his high break is an impressive 88 and he has also had a run of 86 made by top-of-the- table play. His ambition is to become a regular 100+ break player, which must surely become reality in the not too distant future.
