Former UK billiards champion and snooker commentator Jack Karnehm has died at the age of 85.
Karnehm suffered a heart attack on Sunday when working in the garden of his home in Crowthorne, Surrey.
World amateur billiards champion in 1969 and UK professional champion in 1980, Karnehm will be best remembered for his role as a commentator for the BBC.
Former world professional billiards champion Mark Wildman, a current director of the World Professional Billiards and Snooker Association, led the tributes to Karnehm.
He said: "My association with Jack goes back 50 years. He was a real billiards enthusiast and did as much as anyone to keep the sport going through some tough years in the 1960s and 1970s.
"He was a very accomplished commentator who had his own style."
