2018/19 3rd ABC Tournament – Arthur Winns’ One

Sun 11th November 2018, Regional Venues.

On armistices day billiards players paid their respects to the fallen in battle prior to proceedings, but also to those sadly lost to the game in recent times. Billiards stalwart Arthur Winn went one better than his previous ABC final and joined the elite list of ABC winners, beating Teessider Simon Snee in a tense final. Snee played well throughout, taking the highest break and beating Adam Clarke in his semi, Winn beating previous ABC winner Mark Hirst in the other. Youngster F Brown did well to draw with Eva Palmius, who finally triumphed in extra time.
In the plate final, Nathan Mann beat Mark Graham at the death having been behind most of the game. Veteran Ron Agnew was beaten by the winner in the semi, Mick White having a great quarter final win against Mark Hatton but failing to get past Graham.
